Our Wedding

We met on a dating app—two people whose worlds looked different at first glance but fit together in ways we didn’t expect. Alex the self‑described nerdy cyber consultant who loves logic, problem‑solving, and the occasional gaming marathon. Jess the doctor who relies on empathy, curiosity, and a steady focus. What started as a swipe turned into a conversation that felt effortless: humour, questions, and that quiet moment when you realise, ah—this one’s different. Late‑night messages became weekend plans, and those plans became a routine of shared stories, inside jokes, and big dreams. His pragmatic calm balanced her tendency to overthink; her outgoingness pulled him into more of the world. Before we knew it, attraction had deepened into something steady and true. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on 26 September 2026 at Owlpen.

I met Hannah at the start of sixth form and though we didn’t take many of the same subjects, we bonded instantly over a shared love of the sea, rom‑coms, and chocolate! Seventeen years later those passions are much the same—now balanced with the joyful responsibilities of jobs, dogs and kids. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have had Hannah as a best friend and sister figure in my life for the last seventeen years. We've both been such an important part of each others lives so making her my maid of honour was an easy decision but one I may regret come the speeches! 
On the day if you see an adorable curly‑haired little girl waving a flower wand with the bridesmaids - this is Sophia, her daughter who is likely to steal the show!

Hannah

Saskia and I were introduced when I joined the local swimming club age eight so we've known each other a very long time. There's not many friends that you are happy to see at 6.30AM on a Saturday to train but we always enjoyed catching up at the end of sets. We really did grow up together and swimming was just one thing we shared. At 18 we both headed North to University, her in Durham and me in York and very much felt like southerners in the cold North! We we would often take trains to see each other, and it never felt like any time had gone by and that remains the same to this day and I know will always be the case. 


Saskia

Emma and I went to primary school together and were very close, but moving to different secondary schools meant we lost touch. In 2020, thanks to our parents exchanging Christmas cards, I found out that Emma was moving to Cheltenham for work so I reached out and the rest is history! I am so grateful that work brought her near to me again and we have shared many an evening venting about the frustration that is online dating in your 20s! I distinctly remember telling her about Alex and after several dates her commenting that she thought we would end up getting married...how right you were!

The dress code is cocktail party attire: the sweet spot between formal and semi-formal. Dress to feel your best — think polished but comfortable. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be outside at Owlpen on 26 September 2026, so consider footwear suitable for grass — we’ll laugh if a stiletto gets stuck! Please wear lots of colour to complement the venue and celebrate Autumn.

Owlpen Manor is a secluded Cotswold valley a mile east of Uley, off the B4066. Although it is well connected to the rest of southern England by road and rail, and within easy walking distance of the nearest village, the estate can be hard to find, especially at night.We recommend that you follow the directions below when visiting us for the first time, and always approach the estate through ULEY! Our postcode is GL115BZ. Owlpen is marked on all maps, and there are sign-posts at both ends of the country lane which leads to the estate.Our What 3 Words location is <a href="https://what3words.com/remarking.bricks.streaking" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">remarking.bricks.streaking</a> When you arrive at Owlpen, please park in the car park and walk down the tarmac drive.

When to ArrivePlease aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony start time to allow time for parking, gathering, and orientation. We advise that you refer to the invitation or schedule on the home page for exact timings.

Parking &amp; Drop-OffThere is ample on-site parking for guests; please park in the designated car park.Guests requiring closer drop-off (mobility needs, elderly) can be dropped off directly outside the venue and the car moved to the main car park.

Owlpen recommend using Tetbury as a base for them if possible. It is a picturesque local town, with lots of accommodation of varying types. You just have to book the rooms early as they can be in demand! If you would like to consider running a shuttle bus service from there to Owlpen (for drop-off, pick-up or both), then we recommend Applegates which is a great local company.
